Our objectives and key performance measures
VISION
Our vision is to be recognised internationally as a leader in the training of people to service and compete in the equestrian industry..
OBJECTIVES
1. To identify and manage the interests of key stakeholders
Key performance measure
    -
To work with Skill NZ, Tertiary Education Commission and the ITO Board to secure the services of the ITO for the equine and racing codes.
-   Enhance the awareness, importance and benefit of workplace learning to employers.
-   Grow trainee numbers over and above Standard Training Measure (STM) contract.
-   Assist NZ Equestrian Federation with implementing the new coaching programme and credit registration.
2. To establish policies and procedures for funding industry training.
Key performance measure
  - Review the ITO Standard Training Measure (STM) payment structure to sectors.
3. Identify the employment opportunities and prerequisites relating to training pathways
Key performance measure 
  - Promote the newly developed Career and Training pathway model as per website.
4. To assess opportunities to provide training and methods of delivery
Key performance measure 
- Review national qualifications.
- Assist NZ Pony Clubs Association with the development of eLearning.
- Assist with equine learning through gateway and other government initiatives.
5. Assist industry sectors to evaluate their training programmes and provide uniform delivery, assessment and moderation
Key performance measure 
    - Develop annual moderation visitation plans to evaluate assessments both on and off job.
6.   Regularly inform Industry Providers and future clients of industry training achievements/successes
Key performance measure 
- Establish trainee records in order to meet statutory requirements.
- Complete quarterly financial reports.
- Produce regular equine training newsletters.
- Regularly review the content of the ITO's website.
